About the Artist/Instructor:
My name is Kayla Martin and I’ve been creating art for most of my life. I’m a mama to two rambunctious little boys, I’ve been married to my best friend for seven years, and we are happy to call Minden our home.
My art is inspired by local families, southern homes, local flora and fauna, and life in our beloved Sportsman’s Paradise. My art tends to be primarily watercolor portraits but I have recently begun to venture into impasto painting— I love creating fun textures on canvases.
When I’m not painting in my home studio, I can be found traveling the south end of the parish as a Talented Art teacher for four local schools where I get to spend my days with some outstanding young artists.
